One of the greatest joys and achievements in my flower journey was to win a scholarship to attend a workshop run by Katie, Ponderosa & Thyme in Scotland. It was an epic journey to get there and the experience was like none other.
We were greeted by a lone piper on the banks of the River Tay, staying at Eastwood House, a glorious restored house where once Beatrix Potter wrote some of her famous books. How special we felt walking in together to the sound of the bagpipes with the mist swirling around us. This set the scene for the whole week where we were treated as honoured guests from dawn til dusk.
We made friends with fellow floral artists from around the world and spent the week learning, growing and creating under the guidance of Katie and her team who were in full support of us.
Much could be said about this week, suffice to say it will remain as a treasured time which was much more than just a workshop but became a holistic retreat for us all.
Scotland in autumn held a magic of its own where it was a privilege to gather together to experience the heartfelt gift of knowledge and intuition from Katie and her team feeding body, soul and spirit.
Scotland… You are magical.
